HR professionals with key analytical abilities are increasingly critical to a company’s strategic planning team as it is crucial to understand human capital and what drives productivity; labor costs are most often the largest line item in the budget. In a rapidly changing global business environment, HR leaders in our organizations require a keen understanding of Organizational Development, Conflict Management, and Financial Analytics.
A hybrid approach to graduate business studies is hard to find in today’s institutes of higher learning. Universities tend to silo business programs into MBA’s/MAC’s/HR/Organizational Development when, in best practice, none of these skill sets or theories operates independently. Lipscomb’s MHR program successfully integrates human behavioral theory, financial analytical tools, legal issues, and organizational strategies and this uniquely equips their MHR graduates to deliver transformational leadership.

I wanted to take a minute to make a quick comment. I am almost half way done with my MBA classes (4 out of 10) and I am certain I made the right decision of pursuing an MBA and choosing Lipscomb to do that. I found all my classes beneficial, but being biased just because I am immerse in the healthcare industry and I will always be, I found VERY BENEFICIAL my healthcare classes thus far. They provided a lot of great information that relate directly to my industry. I believe that no matter in which field I am (audit now), if I work for a healthcare company, I should know as much as I can about the industry as a whole, and theses classes helped that cause.
Also, both professor Sillyman and professor Cluck utilized diverse and efficient teaching methodologies that did very well in providing us with a lot of information in a short period of time (8 weeks). Don’t get me wrong, I also enjoyed professor Ivey’s class and Dr. Jewell class as well (they are unbelievably SMART!), and those two classes were very tough! But I am just being a little biased as healthcare is my field.
As you know better than me, healthcare in the Nashville area is huge, so I think that having a good strong program for that industry is important and beneficial. In my opinion, Lipscomb has that and I am very pleased with it.
